"This is a report on film photographed and narrated by John Strohm, noted American newspaperman and writer on agricultural affairs. Mr. Strohm was the first American newspaperman who was able to do motion picture photography inside of Red China. This material was photographed during his trip through China in 1958. His commentary is based upon this trip and upon extensive information he obtained during a later visit to Hong Kong when he interviewed numbers of refugees from China." —Encylopaedia Britannica Educational Corporation, "China Under Communism" leaflet
